Taketomi Island UW Hotspring - Ishigaki & Yaeyama

Diving the Taketomi Island Underwater Hotspring is certainly… unique. We’re talking about a spot where volcanic activity pushes hot water up through the seabed, creating shimmering thermoclines you can actually feel as you swim through them. It’s shallow, only about 15 metres, so it’s a perfect chill-out dive for beginners or a nice second dive. While you won't find major coral formations or big pelagics here, the novelty of warm water venting from the ocean floor, especially on a cooler day, makes it worth a look.
