JEN CHENG HAO NO 201 - Northeast Coast

The Jen Cheng Hao No 201 is a bit of a local secret, a fishing vessel that went down back in '89, now resting upright at 43 meters. We love it for its quiet, almost eerie presence. You descend onto the deck, usually with decent visibility, and the structure of the boat is still surprisingly intact – you can make out the wheelhouse, the hold, even some of the fishing gear. It’s got a real ghost ship vibe. The real draw here, though, is the marine life that's made it home. We’ve seen big schools of amberjacks circling the mast, and the deck plates are often covered in tiny nudibranchs if you look closely. It’s a deep dive, so definitely one for experienced divers comfortable with bottom times and deco planning. Current can be a factor, so we always check the tides before heading out. Our favourite is exploring the bow, where the light plays off the metal just right. Just a heads-up, the original report said it was leaking, so while we haven't personally witnessed anything major, it's worth keeping in mind.
