TA WAN - Northeast Coast
Ta Wan, a tug vessel that ran aground in 1987 while attempting a rescue, now lies upright in just 12 meters of water. The wreck itself is a substantial 62.5 meters long, offering plenty to explore. We found the wheelhouse and parts of the engine room still identifiable, creating fascinating swim-throughs for careful divers. Over the decades, the structure has become home to a good variety of reef fish, with schools of fusiliers often circling the deck. It's a solid choice for newer wreck divers or those looking for a relaxed dive with interesting history, especially on calmer days when visibility pushes past 10 meters.
