Johnson's Reef
Why dive here
With 176+ marine species recorded in the area - including dugongs, sperm whales, spinner dolphins, nautiluses and pufferfish - Johnson's Reef offers some of Andaman Islands's richest reef diving. Water ranges 28-31°C, warmest April, May, June.
Johnson's Reef in the Andamans offers a pleasant dive, a good spot for a relaxed morning. You’ll find healthy patches of coral here, home to plenty of Nagasaki damsels darting about and schools of blue-green chromis providing that constant shimmer. We’ve often spotted various wrasse species cruising by, and if you’re patient, you might even catch a glimpse of a Sangi cardinalfish tucked into the reef. It’s not the most dramatic dive in the region, but it’s a solid choice for an easygoing drift or a second dive, suitable for divers looking to unwind and soak in some healthy reef action without too much fuss.
