Four Seasons Voavah Island - Baa Atoll

The team at Four Seasons Voavah Island are all about bespoke diving, and for good reason: you’ve got the whole island to yourself. This isn't your average cattle boat operation; we're talking about a completely tailored experience, perfect for families or groups who want privacy and flexibility above all else. If you're looking to dive on your own schedule, with guides who know your preferences from day one, this is our pick in Baa Atoll. What we love here is the freedom. You can wake up, decide you want to hit a manta cleaning station, and within an hour you're there, often with just your group on the site. Baa Atoll is famous for its mantas, especially around Hanifaru Bay during the southwest monsoon, but there are plenty of quieter channels to explore too. We’ve had incredible drifts along the thilas, watching grey reef sharks patrol the drop-offs and schools of fusiliers so thick they block the sun. The guides are fantastic at finding the smaller stuff too – often pointing out an ornate ghost pipefish or a well-camouflaged stonefish that we'd have absolutely swum right past. It feels like diving with friends who happen to be experts. Just be ready for those Maldivian currents; they can pick up fast, so good buoyancy is key.
