The team at Ocean Sports Maldives are the kind of people you want running your dive holiday. They’ve been kicking around Baa Atoll for ages, and it shows in their easy confidence and how well they know the currents here. We love that they’re a PADI 5 Star centre, which means the gear is always solid and the training top-notch, but it’s their local knowledge that really makes them shine. This outfit is ideal if you’re serious about diving Baa and want to go with folks who understand its rhythms. They’re less about the resort hustle and more about getting you to the *right* place at the *right* time. Our favourite memory is a morning drift dive with them through a channel, where grey reef sharks cruised past, close enough to count their teeth, and then we surfaced to find a pod of spinner dolphins playing in the boat’s wake. They’ll tell you when to go for manta season at Hanifaru Bay, of course, but also where to find the smaller stuff, the nudibranchs tucked away on a coral head, or the octopus hiding in a crevice. We’d suggest chatting with them beforehand about what you’re hoping to see; they’re brilliant at tailoring trips.
