Hanifaru Bay is a shallow reef, topping out at 19 metres, but you're probably not coming here for the reef itself. This is a classic seasonal spot, where from May to November, the plankton blooms attract manta rays and whale sharks. It’s more of a snorkel site than a dive, with strict regulations to protect the animals, so you'll be on the surface watching the show. Ideal for beginners or anyone wanting a unique wildlife encounter, rather than a typical reef exploration.
