Further out, the thilas and channels like Banana Reef and Kuda Haa offer a kaleidoscope of colour. Expect plenty of reef sharks cruising the current, and we’ve often spotted eagle rays gliding past in the blue. The visibility is usually excellent, that bright, clear Maldivian water, and the water temperature is consistently warm, around 28-29°C, so a 3mm shorty or even just board shorts is usually enough.
