SUB AQUA Divecenter Thulhagiri - North Malé Atoll
The team at SUB AQUA Divecenter Thulhagiri are exactly the kind of crew you want guiding your dives in North Malé. They’re PADI 5 Star, so expect solid instruction if you’re looking to get certified or advance your skills, but it's their intimate knowledge of the local sites that really shines. We’ve always appreciated their relaxed approach; it feels more like diving with friends than a rigid operation, which is a big plus for repeat visitors and those on a longer trip. What we really love about diving with them is their knack for finding the sweet spots, even on well-known sites. They know when the grey reef sharks are likely to cruise past Manta Point, or the best time of day to catch a school of eagle rays gliding over Lankan Manta. Visibility in North Malé can vary, but these guys are excellent at reading the conditions, finding those pockets of clear water where you can really appreciate the intricate gorgonian fans and the flash of a passing napoleon wrasse. Our favourite dives with them often involve a gentle drift along a channel, watching fusiliers scatter as a dogtooth tuna patrols past. You’ll feel the current, sure, but they make it an enjoyable ride, not a struggle. If you’re looking for a comfortable, friendly base to explore the classic North Malé Atoll dives, they’re a superb choice.
