Giraavaru Caves - North Malé Atoll

Giraavaru Caves is a nice, relaxed spot in North Malé Atoll, perfect for newer divers looking for a gentle introduction to overhead environments. We drop down to about 26 metres, finding a series of small overhangs and shallow caves along the reef face. Inside, you'll often spot sleeping nurse sharks tucked away, sometimes a few stingrays too. It’s not a dramatic cave system, more of a series of big ledges you can duck under, which means plenty of light and an easy exit. It's a comfortable dive, good for building confidence, without any strong currents usually.
