Girifushi Thila - North Malé Atoll

Girifushi Thila, often called HP or Rainbow Reef, is a pretty good example of why we love diving in North Malé. This submerged pinnacle, its shallowest point around 12 metres, often has a decent current running over it. That current is what brings in the fish, and you'll often find yourself drifting past schools of fusiliers, snappers, and bannerfish, just hanging there, almost motionless in the flow. It’s a colourful spot, plenty of healthy corals, and a great dive for anyone comfortable with a bit of drift and who enjoys seeing sheer numbers of reef fish.
