With 95+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, sea turtles, spinner dolphins and whale sharks - Thin Thila offers some of North Malé Atoll's richest reef diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest April, May, July.
Thin Thila is a good one for shaking off the travel dust. This shallow reef, topping out at 20 meters, is a gentle introduction to Maldivian diving, perfect for beginners or anyone wanting a relaxed afternoon. We’ve found it reliably hosts schools of fusiliers and snapper, often with a few reef sharks cruising by in the blue. Keep an eye on the sand patches for garden eels poking their heads out. It’s a comfortable, easy drift, letting you focus on the little things without fighting current.
