Panettone Thila - South Ari Atoll

We’ve found Panettone Thila, also called Kalhahandi Huraa, lives up to its ‘Manta Point’ name, especially from February to March. It’s a gently sloping reef on South Ari’s east coast, perfect for spotting those big graceful rays. But don't just swim past the reef itself. Look for the shallow channels, about a meter deep and a couple of meters wide, cutting into the flatter sections. If you’re good on buoyancy, you can duck into these and watch the currents sweep smaller reef fish past. It’s a comfortable dive, good for most experience levels looking for a bit more than just open-water pelagics.
