With 100+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, sea turtles, spinner dolphins and whale sharks - Sharks Tongue offers some of South Malé Atoll's richest diving. Water ranges 28-31°C, warmest April, May, July.
Sharks Tongue in South Malé is a straightforward reef dive, good for intermediate divers comfortable with a consistent depth of 27m. We usually find whitetip reef sharks patrolling the ledge here, along with the occasional grey reef shark cruising by. It’s a solid drift dive, the current pushing you past the reef structure where you’ll spot schooling fusiliers and snapper. We’d suggest it for divers looking for reliable shark encounters without anything too challenging.
