La Casa Robert - Flic en Flac & West Coast

Munk’s Haven, out on the west side of Klein Bonaire, is one of our favourites for a relaxed afternoon drift. The boat drops you, and you just float along with the gentle current. It’s perfect for those days when you don't want to think too hard. You start shallow, often over stretches of turtlegrass where we’ve spotted Apricot Bass and those tiny Island Gobies peeking out. Then, the reef slowly angles down. The shallow depth is brilliant, letting sunlight flood the Great Star Coral and Boulder Brain Coral formations. Keep an eye out for the Orbicular Batfish, they often hang around in the mid-water column, looking a bit out of place. We’ve found a busy cleaning station deeper down, around 15 metres, with plenty of Schoolmasters and Jacks waiting their turn. The visibility here is usually great, often pushing past 20 metres, so you get a wide view of everything. It’s a site that feels consistently rewarding without being overly dramatic, a real Bonaire classic.
