Coral Garden - Inner Islands

Hamlet is one of those Bonaire sites we keep coming back to, mainly because of the wall. It’s not a dramatic drop, maxing out around 19 meters, but the coral growth is just fantastic. We often find ourselves just hovering, watching the concentric ervilia pulse and looking for the tiny rusty gobies tucked into the crevices of the yellow pencil coral. Entry is usually a relaxed affair, often just a giant stride from the shore near Dive Friends Hamlet. We’d suggest going early, before the dive boats from Captain Don’s start showing up, to really appreciate the peace. The shallows here are surprisingly active; we’ve spotted green turtles munching on seagrass, and if you take your time, there are often seahorses clinging to the finger coral. Look for the bluegold gobies flitting around the massive starlet coral heads. There's plenty to keep you occupied even if you stick above 10 meters, making it a great dive for anyone who just wants to take it slow and really observe.
