With 269+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and great white sharks - Phil's Bay offers some of Cape Town & Western Cape's richest reef diving. Water ranges 14-16°C, warmest February, March, April.
Phil’s Bay offers a pleasant reef dive, particularly good for those looking for a relaxed experience. The site is home to a variety of smaller reef fish and invertebrates, making it ideal for macro enthusiasts or newer divers getting comfortable in the local waters. We often see nudibranchs and small crabs tucked into the crevices. It’s a good choice for a second dive of the day when you’re not chasing big pelagics.
