With 269+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and great white sharks - RYENGEN offers some of Cape Town & Western Cape's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 14-16°C, warmest February, March, April.
The Ryengen wreck sits in very shallow water, barely 5 metres deep, making it accessible for almost any diver. We found it a decent spot for a quick, relaxed dive, especially if you're keen on exploring a wreck without the usual depth challenges. Expect to see some kelp growth on the remains and a scattering of smaller reef fish sheltering in the structure. It’s a good choice for newer divers or those looking for a laid-back macro photography opportunity.
