With 269+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and great white sharks - SHIAN FENG CHANG NO.12 offers some of Cape Town & Western Cape's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 14-16°C, warmest February, March, April.
The Shian Feng Chang No. 12 sits at 42 metres, a solid, deep dive off Paardeneiland that rewards a bit of patience. She went down in '74, dragged onto the breakwater in a storm, and now she’s a proper wreck, broken up a fair bit, but still very much a ship. You'll find the usual Cape Town suspects here – plenty of red romans, often a shy octopus tucked into a crevice, and a thick carpet of anemones and sponges covering her metal hull. It's a dive for those comfortable with deeper profiles, less about penetration and more about appreciating how the ocean slowly reclaims these old vessels.
