SS SA Seafarer - Cape Town & Western Cape
The SS SA Seafarer offers a decent wreck dive off the Cape Peninsula, a good option when the Atlantic is kicking up. This old cargo ship, which went down in 1966, lies well broken up but still has plenty of structure to poke around in. You'll find yourself navigating through scattered plates and beams, with the occasional hold still discernible. We typically see shy catsharks tucked away, along with the usual cast of hottentot and strepies flitting through the wreckage. It's a solid, undemanding wreck for divers comfortable with slightly cooler water and limited visibility, a good training ground for trickier sites.
