Malongane Beach Resort - Sodwana Bay
The team at Malongane Beach Resort are what we call proper old-school Sodwana divers. They know the reefs intimately, the currents, the best spots for ragged-tooth sharks when they're around. We love that they’re right on the beach, making those early launches blessedly easy. Seriously, rolling out of bed and practically onto the boat? That's luxury in our books, especially when you're aiming to beat the wind. It’s a PADI 5-star centre, so you’ll find all the usual courses, but their real strength is guided diving. These guys practically grew up in these waters. Ask them about the best time for potato bass at Anton’s or where the honeycomb morays like to hang out on Stringer. We’d suggest you listen. They’re great for divers who appreciate local expertise and want to maximise their bottom time without fuss. You'll often find yourself sharing a beer with them afterwards, swapping stories about the day’s sightings, which, for us, is half the fun of a dive trip. If you’re after that classic Sodwana vibe, good dives, and genuine hospitality, Malongane is a solid choice.
