ENGINEER - Sodwana Bay
The Engineer is an old steamship, sitting upright in about 13 metres of water, making it a pretty accessible wreck dive for most. We’re not talking about deep penetration here, but there’s enough structure to explore. Look for the bow and stern sections, still largely intact, giving you a good sense of its original form. Schools of snapper and fusiliers often hang around the midship, and if you peek into the darker corners, you might spot a moray eel or a scorpionfish blending in. It's a nice easy dive, often paired with another site, and while it's classified as a "dangerous wreck" by some, we find it a gentle and interesting spot, especially for photographers looking for an atmospheric shot.
