With 165+ marine species recorded in the area - including humpback whales, sea turtles, sperm whales and whale sharks - Nyororo Reef offers some of Mafia Island's richest reef diving. Water ranges 26-29°C, warmest February, March, April.
Nyororo Reef on Mafia Island is a solid drift dive, particularly when the current is running. We often see large schools of barracuda here, sometimes eagle rays gliding by in the deeper sections. It’s a good spot for intermediate divers comfortable with moving water, offering a chance to cover a lot of ground without much effort. Visibility usually holds up well, making for relaxed viewing.
