Nyororo Reef - Mafia Island
Diving La Perouse Reef is a unique experience. This isn't your typical warm water coral reef. Instead, expect a vibrant world of cold-water corals, anemones, and sponges clinging to the rocky substrate. We’ve found the currents here can be unpredictable, so it’s best for experienced divers comfortable in cooler temperatures and surge. Keep an eye out for the resident spotted ratfish, big skates gliding by, and the impressive sunflower stars that seem to be everywhere. It's a raw, wild place, and definitely one to consider for something a bit different.
