SHEIKH ALI - Vlora
The Sheikh Ali wreck, just off Vlora, is an interesting dive, especially for those who appreciate maritime history. This 130-meter motor vessel met its end in 1985 after a cargo shift in rough seas, eventually getting beached near Brindisi before settling here. At only 7 meters deep, it’s remarkably accessible, making it an excellent choice for newer divers or anyone looking for a relaxed exploration. We found the sheer scale of the wreck impressive given the shallow depth, with plenty of nooks and crannies to peer into. Expect to see schools of juvenile fish darting through the superstructure and the occasional octopus tucked away. While the visibility can vary, on a good day, the light plays beautifully through the decaying metal.
