Attersee - Wrack Dixie - Istria Peninsula

Jibbon Bombora, just off Bundeena, holds a special place in our Sydney dive calendar. It’s a proper pinnacle, rising from deep water, and we love how it consistently delivers. You drop onto the top, usually around 12-15 metres, and then you can work your way around the edges. The visibility here often outshines other local spots, which is always a bonus, especially when those schools of Pacific sardines are thick enough to create shimmering tunnels. We often spot Freycinet's leatherjackets picking their way through the sponges and the occasional Waite's ghost shark lurking in the shadows if you’re patient and lucky. The currents can get a bit frisky, so it's definitely one for experienced divers comfortable with a drift, but that's precisely why it attracts the bigger pelagics. Keep an eye out for Cosmopolitan spurdogs cruising past the deeper sections. It’s an exhilarating dive, a true blue-water experience without straying too far from the city.
