Chappeli - Istria Peninsula

Zurrieq Valley offers a decent shore dive on Malta's south coast. We usually drop in here when the north is blown out, finding it quite sheltered. You'll descend into a rocky valley, hence the name, with decent chances of spotting painted combers, inquisitive damselfish, and a few different gobies tucked into the crevices. Look closely for smaller stuff like the colourful butterfly blenny. It’s a pretty straightforward dive, good for getting wet and shaking off the rust, or for divers still building confidence in their buoyancy without strong currents to contend with.
