Dive Base Krk - Istria Peninsula
The team at Dive Base Krk are the real deal, no fuss, just solid diving. We love that they’re right on the water, making those morning boat trips feel seamless, no long schleps with gear. It’s a fantastic base for exploring the sheer variety of diving around Krk Island, especially if you’re into the historical stuff mixed with dramatic walls. They really shine when it comes to wreck and cave diving, but their daily tours hit some fantastic reef sites too. We’d suggest getting out with them on an early boat to the **Mihovil** wreck; the light there in the morning can be spectacular, filtering through the superstructure. For something different, the **Vrbnik Cave** is pretty cool, the way the light plays on the stalactites underwater is genuinely captivating. You’ll feel the temperature drop a touch in there, a refreshing change on a hot day. The house reef is surprisingly vibrant for a shore dive, great for knocking off some skills or just a relaxed afternoon dip. Afterwards, that terrace with a sea view is perfect for debriefing over a cold drink. We think Dive Base Krk really suits divers who appreciate efficient operations and a good mix of dive types, from historical exploration to classic reef dives. They know the local waters intimately, and that local knowledge always makes for better diving.
