Fisherman's Boat - Istria Peninsula

Forget the hype about deep wrecks; the Fisherman's Boat proves that accessibility can still deliver. Dropping to a comfortable 24 metres, this isn't a massive cargo ship, but a proper wooden fishing vessel, likely resting exactly where it went down. We love how intact it feels, with the hull still largely recognisable despite the years. What you get here is a real sense of history, a working boat caught in time. Expect to see lobsters tucked into every crevice, big schools of damselfish flitting around the rigging, and scorpionfish camouflaged on the wooden planks. We often spot moray eels peering out from gaps in the bow. It's a dive that rewards slow exploration, peering into the small cabin, imagining the last journey. Our tip? Go early to have it mostly to yourself; the light through the deckhouse windows is fantastic then. It’s perfect for intermediate divers looking for a rewarding wreck without the heavy currents or depths of some of its neighbours.
