Liebesinsel - Istria Peninsula

Twin Peaks, for us, is a classic Palawan experience. You'll find it just off the coast, two distinct coral mounds rising from the sandy bottom. We like to drop in on the shallower peak first, maybe around 10 meters, and just drift slowly around it. The real draw here isn't necessarily the big pelagics, though we’ve seen barracuda cruise by. Instead, it’s the sheer density of the smaller stuff. The corals themselves are solid, a mix of brain and plate formations, providing ample cover for what feels like a thousand little reef fish. Look closely, and you’ll spot yellowstripe gobies peeking out from their holes, and we’ve had good luck finding Black-spotted Snubnose Gobies here too, if you've got a sharp eye. Down deeper, near the sand channels between the peaks, we often see Anchor trunkfish pottering about. The visibility is generally good, often 15-20 meters, which makes for easy navigation and plenty of light to bring out the colour. We’d suggest this spot for pretty much any diver comfortable with a gentle drift; it’s a lovely, relaxed dive that’s packed with small-scale life.
