Lopper Känzeli - Istria Peninsula
Uroro no Sachi, out in the Keramas, is one of those sites we always try to hit if the conditions are right. It’s not about the big pelagics here, though you might get a passing remora or two. This place is about the sheer density and variety of coral, particularly the staghorn. We love to drop in and just float over the massive stands of them, stretching out in every direction. The sunlight filtering through the water creates these incredible shifting patterns on the coral, and you can spend an entire dive just absorbing that gentle movement. Our favourite thing to do is find a quiet spot and just watch the small stuff moving through the branches. You’ll see juvenile wrasse, gobies darting in and out, and sometimes a tiny moray peering out from the deeper crevices. It’s a perfect site for photographers who appreciate macro and wide-angle coral shots. The best time to go is usually mid-morning when the sun is high, really making those colours pop. If there’s a bit of a swell, it can get surgey, so aim for calmer days for the best experience.
