Misnjak (Sanddüne) - Istria Peninsula

Misnjak, or "Sanddüne," isn't your typical Croatian reef dive, and we mean that in the best way. This is a muck dive, plain and simple, and it’s a good one for those who appreciate the smaller, stranger creatures of the sand. Instead of dramatic walls, you’ll spend your time sifting through the bottom, often spotting elusive scaldfish or the Atlantic spotted flounder doing their best disappearing act. It's a fantastic spot for macro photographers or anyone who enjoys a slower, more deliberate dive, perfect for finding cowfish tucked into the sand or Grohmann's scaldfish darting away. Keep an eye out for the vibrant scarlet and sunset cup corals, too.
