Nautilus - Istria Peninsula

Turk Reef is a site we keep coming back to. While some of the Cocos sites are about the big stuff, Turk is a masterclass in the intricate, the small, and the downright weird. We love drifting along the reef wall here, letting the gentle current guide us past immense cauliflower corals and the more delicate staghorn varieties. Keep an eye out for the dragon wrasse, always a thrill to spot, and the quick dart of a high hat triplefin. The blackside hawkfish are practically posing on the coral heads. We’ve spent entire dives just hovering, watching the dark-fin chromis flicker in the sunlight, or trying to spot the slender snake eel poking its head from the sand. It’s a photographer’s dream, particularly if you’re into macro, and a brilliant spot for any diver who appreciates slowing down and truly observing the reef. Turk Reef offers a chance to immerse yourself in the subtle beauty of Cocos.
