Down in the waters off the Istria Peninsula lies the SMS Streiter, a torpedo boat sunk during World War I. This isn't a massive battleship, but its size makes it quite accessible for a good penetration if you’re properly trained and comfortable. We found schools of damselfish flitting through the superstructure, and the stern section often has scorpionfish tucked into crevices. It’s a solid wreck dive for those who appreciate history and the way the sea reclaims these old vessels.
