Säulenbucht - Istria Peninsula

Säulenbucht, up on the Istria Peninsula, is a good spot for an easy dive, especially if you're keen on seeing some interesting macro life without much fuss. We’ve found it’s a great place to slow down and really look closely. You’ll spot plenty of European fan-worms swaying in the gentle surge, and the calcareous green alga adds a nice splash of colour against the rock. Keep an eye out for the busy little red snapping shrimp darting between the rocks, and those striking sunset cup corals clinging to the nooks. It’s a solid pick for divers who enjoy relaxed exploring and aren't chasing big pelagics.
