Schifflände - Istria Peninsula

Punta Miel, for us, is classic Coiba. It's not the deep pelagic stuff you hear all the big stories about, but it’s an absolute jewel for just cruising and soaking it all in. We love drifting along the sloping reef here, watching the resident azure parrotfish chip away at the coral, their colours popping even in the deeper sections. The hogfish are always around, bold and curious, often swimming right up to check you out. This site really shines when you slow down. The sheer number of smaller reef fish is incredible. We’ve spent whole safety stops mesmerised by the banded cleaner-gobies working their magic, or spotting the tiny redhead gobies tucked into crevices. Keep an eye out for undulated morays poking their heads from their rocky homes. If the current is mild, which it often is here, it’s a super relaxed dive, perfect for photographers or anyone who just wants to unwind and watch the reef ecosystem doing its thing. It’s one of our favourite spots for a second dive of the day, when you want something beautiful but not too demanding.
