Seehalde - Istria Peninsula
Is-Sikka l-Bajda is a reliable little spot just off the coast of Malta, a bit of an overlooked beauty. We particularly like it for a relaxed second dive, or when the wind picks up elsewhere. The real draw here is the reef itself; it’s a series of rocky shelves and gullies, giving you plenty of nooks to poke around in. Look out for the Painted Combers, darting between the rocks, and those shy Dusky Groupers lurking in the shadows. We often find Common Octopuses here too, sometimes just their eyes peering out from a crevice. You’ll also spot plenty of Ornate Wrasse. They add a lovely splash of colour to the Mediterranean blues. For photographers, the light playing through the rock formations is often spectacular, especially mid-morning. It's not the deepest dive, so it's a good choice for newer divers looking for a bit of exploration without strong currents.
