SIRIUS - Istria Peninsula

The Sirius is one of those wrecks that just settles into the seabed, becoming part of the landscape rather than an intrusion. Sunk in 1947, she rests at a maximum depth of 46 metres off the Istrian coast, an appealing option for divers with their deep cert. What you'll find is a cargo ship, well broken up now, but still offering plenty to explore across her scattered hull and machinery. We've seen conger eels poking out of nooks and crannies, and quite a few scorpionfish camouflaged against the encrusted metal. It’s a quiet, reflective dive, best suited for those who appreciate the history of a wreck and the way the sea reclaims it.
