Sisikon - Istria Peninsula

Reef Patches, what a spot. We’re talking about a sprawl of coral heads, each one a miniature ecosystem, rising from the sandy bottom. It’s not a deep dive, but the sheer density of fish life here is what grabs you. We've finned past schools of fusiliers so thick they momentarily block the sun, then rounded a coral bommie to find a pair of giant trevally eyeing us with that typical aloofness. The real magic happens when you slow right down. Get low, watch the blackside hawkfish perched on the coral, or spot a blue-banded pualu darting between crevices. It’s a macro dream, too, with those tiny banded fringe blennies popping in and out of their holes. We love Reef Patches for a relaxed afternoon drift or a dedicated photography session, especially when the light is softening. It’s a site that rewards patience and a keen eye.
