Steinberger See - Rutsche - Istria Peninsula

Doma Reef is one of those places we often find ourselves recommending, especially if you’re looking for a break from the wrecks of Iron Bottom Sound. It's a genuine coral comeback story. You’ll drop onto a sloping reef, absolutely covered in soft corals and hard coral formations that have sprung back with incredible vigour since the war. We especially love the way the light filters through the shallower sections, highlighting big schools of fusiliers and triggerfish. Keep an eye out for the Blackside Hawkfish perched on the coral heads – they’re always a fun find. The Bandcheek Wrasse are everywhere, iridescent flashes of blue and green. It's a relaxed drift, generally. Perfect for a second dive of the day, or if you just want to take it easy and soak in the pure reef energy. Visibility here can sometimes push past 25 metres, and on those days, Doma truly shines. It suits divers who appreciate a healthy, thriving reef that’s proving its resilience.
