Strandbad Kindli - Istria Peninsula

Reef Patches, off Christmas Island, is a proper kaleidoscope. We love the way the light plays through the shallows here, hitting the staghorn and transverse coral. You’ll find some seriously big schools of greensnout and bicolor parrotfish just chomping away, clouds of them, really. We've seen coral blennies peeking out of every crevice, and it’s a great spot for spotting those cheeky banded cleaner shrimp. Look closely for the snakehead cowries - they’re always a treat. Currents here tend to be pretty mellow, making it an excellent choice for a relaxed morning dive. We'd suggest aiming for a mid-morning slack tide; that's when the smaller stuff, like the tail-spot squirrelfish and the red sea half-and-half chromis, seem most active. It’s an easygoing dive, perfect for just cruising and soaking it all in, whether you've got five dives or five hundred under your belt.
