Strandbad Niederuster - Istria Peninsula

Round Reef is one of those spots that really makes you feel the raw, untamed energy of the Bay of Fundy. It's not a gentle drift, but it's utterly exhilarating. We love dropping in here, feeling the push and pull of the famous Fundy tides, knowing that every single dive is going to be a completely different show. The real magic here is the sheer density of life clinging to every surface. You’ll find Atlantic cod lurking in the deeper channels, eyeing the scuttling Atlantic rock crabs. We've seen little skates tucked into sandy patches, almost perfectly camouflaged, and if you’ve got a good eye, you might spot an inquiline snailfish hiding amongst the anemones. The kelp forests are thick, swaying with the surge, creating these incredible filtered light shows. Visibility can be a bit variable, typical for the Bay, so pick your day carefully. We'd suggest aiming for a slack tide window to really take your time and explore. It's definitely one for experienced cold-water divers who appreciate a robust environment and aren’t afraid of a little current. Bring your wide-angle lens, because the scale here is epic.
