Traunsee - Fledermausbucht - Istria Peninsula

Nuñez Shoal doesn't always make the big travel brochures, but it’s a site we always enjoy. Expect a sloping reef, somewhere around 20-25 metres is where we usually find the interesting stuff. We’ve had some cracking encounters with Pygmy Ribbon Tail Catsharks here, tucked under ledges, and the Hookcheek No-line Scorpionfish are surprisingly common once you get your eye in for them. It’s a great spot for macro photographers and those who appreciate a slower, more observant dive rather than a high-speed drift. Give it a shot if you’re in the area and fancy something a bit less frantic.
