U 65 - Istria Peninsula

The U 65, an Austro-Hungarian U-boat scuttled at the end of World War I, sits in exceptionally shallow water, maxing out at about 5 metres. It’s less of a dive and more of a snorkel, or maybe a very leisurely, shallow dive for those looking to stretch their bottom time. The stern is largely intact, with the torpedo tubes still visible, while the rest of the vessel is quite broken up. Schools of small fish dart in and out of the twisted metal, and we’ve spotted blennies and gobies making homes in the nooks and crannies. This site is perfect for newer divers, snorkelers, or anyone wanting a relaxed fin-kick with a bit of history thrown in.
