Wreck Numidia - Istria Peninsula

The Wreck Numidia, sitting at 35 metres, is our kind of wreck dive off Istria. It's not one of those sites you just swim over; this is a proper exploration. We love how the stern section is still largely intact, giving you a real sense of its former grandeur. Drop down onto the deck and you'll find schools of barracuda circling, their scales glinting in the shafts of light that pierce the gloom. Head towards the bow and the ship's massive anchor chains spill out across the seabed, almost beckoning you deeper. We’ve often spotted lobsters tucked into the nooks and crannies of the superstructure, sometimes a big grouper eyeing you from a shadowy doorway. The current here can be mild, but occasionally it picks up a bit, so keep an eye on your dive guide. This one's best for divers comfortable at depth and keen to really spend time poking around a historical vessel, not just glimpsing it.
