Wreck of SMS Viribus Unitis - Istria Peninsula

Chick Reef is one of those Pacific Northwest spots that truly shines on a good day. We’ve found it best to time our dives for slack tide, otherwise, you're fighting a bit of a workout. Dropping down, you’re often greeted by dense kelp forests swaying in the surge, providing cover for crab and shrimp. Keep an eye out for big skates settled on the sand patches, and the surprising flash of salmon, particularly coho, if you hit it during migration. It's a fantastic dive for photographers who appreciate the subtleties of temperate waters and don't mind a bit of a current challenge.
