Wreck Wasilios T - Vis & Biševo
The Wasilios T, resting off Vis, is a seriously atmospheric wreck. Dropping down, the sheer scale hits you; she’s a big cargo ship, split in two, lying on her port side. We love the way the light filters through the upper decks, illuminating schools of sardines darting around the cargo holds. It’s an easy dive, mostly, and the penetration opportunities are plentiful for those with the right training. You can duck into the engine room, or poke around the cabins – just watch your buoyancy in the tighter spots. We’ve spotted conger eels peeking from portholes and scorpionfish camouflaged on the deck plating. Our favourite part has to be the stern section, with the rudder and prop still largely intact, now draped in sponges. The visibility here is usually excellent, around 20-30 metres, which really lets you appreciate the whole scene. It’s a great wreck for those looking for something substantial to explore without excessive depth or tricky currents.
