FETOUH EL KHEIR - Larnaca

The Fetouh El Kheir is a moody dive, a wooden sailing vessel that went down in the 1960s, a stone’s throw from the Zenobia. We love it for its character, the way the old timber creaks in your imagination as you descend through the blue. Dropping to 40 metres, she’s largely broken up now, but the sections that remain are draped in growth. You’ll find big groupers here, tucked into crevices, and schools of amberjack often patrol the deeper parts. We’d suggest focusing on the bow and stern sections; they offer the most shelter and, consequently, the most interesting congregations of fish. There’s a quietness to this wreck, a sense of history that feels different from the Zenobia’s bustling energy. It’s a dive for those who appreciate the subtle beauty of decay and the slow reclamation by the sea.
