Zenobia Upper Deck - Larnaca

The Zenobia’s Upper Deck is where we always start. It’s where the wreck truly reveals itself without demanding too much bottom time. You’re dropping down onto an almost intact superstructure, lorries still chained to the deck, some now hanging precariously over the side. The visibility here, often 20 metres plus, lets you really appreciate the scale. We love finning slowly along the port side, peering into the open cargo holds. Look for the black leather sponge growing in thick clusters, and keep an eye out for silver-cheeked toadfish peeking from beneath twisted metal. The light plays beautifully through the portholes and the gaps in the deck plating, casting these ethereal shafts onto the deck. It’s a fantastic spot for intermediate divers, offering a real wreck experience without the commitment of deeper penetration. For us, it’s the perfect warm-up before you explore deeper into this incredible wreck.
