The steamship ALLEN, resting at 16 metres off Bornholm, is a good pick for divers keen on exploring a piece of maritime history. She’s classified as a dangerous wreck, which sounds ominous, but mostly means you need to be mindful of penetration points; we’d suggest leaving serious penetration to the technical crowd. Even just hovering above the deck offers plenty to see. You can trace the outline of her hull, peer into shadowed cargo holds, and often spot cod or blennies tucked into the wreckage. The visibility here can be decent, especially on a calm day, giving the whole site a wonderfully atmospheric feel.
